Berg+Schmidt has been operating in the field of fat chemistry for 50 years. The firm is a member of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe, a group of companies independent of the big organizations. The focus is on three product lines:
? Oleochemical specialities ? Phospholipids ? Feed fats Over the past 15 years the production of oleochemical specialities has shifted more and more from Europe to the South-East Asian countries where palm and palm kernel oils originate.
From the beginning Berg+Schmidt has been strongly involved in importing these special fat products and distributing them in Europe. Our Asian partners include IOI Oleochemical Industries Berhad, VVF Limited, Mumbai, India and Acidchem International.
Berg+Schmidt is at home in the oleochemical markets of the world. Our staff know the customers, the applications, an the resources. We have branches of our own in Singapore, Malaysia and India.
Our presence in South-East Asia and India enables us to detect trends in good time and pass on our know-how directly to our customers. In Ouderkerk near Rotterdam we have a modern stainless-steel tank farm with an integrated quality laboratory. With a large number of storage tanks, currently with a total capacity of 7,000 cbm, we are well set up for the future.
From Rotterdam we supply our customers quickly and flexibily, also with tailor-maid blends to meet individual requirements. The products can be supplied with a Kosher certificate on request. The entire plant is certified according to ISO 9001:2000 and the environmental standard 14001.
